In the past, electricity was not known for a long time. And even when people did learn about it, they often did not prefer it and did not trust it. After all, they had solid fuel stoves, torches, candles, or kerosene lamps, they traveled on foot or in animal-drawn carts, they sang instead of listening to the radio, and they looked out the window instead of watching television. So why bother with something new like electricity? Especially when it carried the risk of fire or power outages.
But then people let themselves be swayed. And they gradually began to use electricity more and more. And they found that it wasn\’t so bad after all. And so, over time, a whole range of appliances powered by electricity appeared. And today, we can\’t imagine our lives without a range of electrical appliances.

We all have lots of different electrical appliances at home. Some provide light, some cook, some heat, some entertain and educate us. Some offer us services that we would otherwise lack, some make things easier for us that would otherwise be difficult.
And why do we like electrical appliances? Why did we stop using other forms of energy long ago? Because electricity is perfect in every way. When we take care of it and are careful, it is not dangerous, and what\’s more, it is almost always available, it doesn\’t smell, and it doesn\’t get in the way. And what else could replace all this? Probably nothing.

So we know electricity and use it everywhere. We vacuum thanks to it, we drive using electric power, we wash clothes, we have power tools, refrigerators and freezers, stoves, and a whole lot of other things.
The only thing that might bother us is its price. Electricity isn\’t expensive, but when you use a lot of it, it can add up. And apparently, it\’s going to keep getting more expensive. Hopefully, it won\’t get out of hand. It would be sad if we had to go back to torches and solid fuel stoves because of expensive electricity, or sit at home in the dark.
